In a 4 pole, 3 phase alternator, armature has
36 slots. It is using an armature winding which is short pitched by one slot.
Calculate its coil span factor.
Solution :
n = Slots/pole = 36/4 = 9
β = 180o/ = 20o
Now coil is shorted by 1 slot i.e. by 20o to full pitch distance.
... α = Angle of short pitch = 20o
... Kc = cos (α/2) = cos (10)
= 0.9848
thank you
ReplyDeletethis is no pitch factor but coil factor
ReplyDeleteSame but we use diferent abbrebiations.
DeleteKc = cos (α/2) = cos (10) this line i din't get it how did u use 2
ReplyDeleteCos(10) is -0.839 and not 0.9848
ReplyDeleteChange from deg to radians
DeleteYour calculator needs to be set in degree to come up with 0.9848.
DeleteWhat calculator are you using?
ReplyDeleteIts 0.984807753
hehe
DeleteI dont understand how to find alpha value plz explain.
ReplyDeleteThe alternator have 4 poles and 36 slots. So each pole will have 36/4= 9 slots under it.
DeleteAnd u know 1 pole = angle of 180° electrica.
So each slot angle= 180°/9 =20°.
Now given armature winding is short pitched by one slot.
So as alpha =shortpitch angle =20°.
So Kp=cos(20°/2)= cos(10°)
I dont understand how to find alpha value plz explain.
ReplyDeleteIf short pitch by 2 slot then alfa is
ReplyDelete40
DeleteHow to find distribution factor for same problem?
ReplyDeletepitch factor and distribution factor to calculate....please
DeleteHow
ReplyDeletehow to find distribution factor for same .
ReplyDeleteHow to find cos(alpha)'s value
ReplyDeleteThanks
ReplyDeleteforgot to consider the 3 phase
